According to Ayurveda, we are a composition of the five elements (Ether, air, fire, water and earth) and some of them are more dominant based on your constitution which makes us unique.
The first step to health is to accept our constitution. Accepting ourselves as who we are is the greatest health of all.
Also when we feel any physical or emotional imbalance, the key to releasing it is to notice it without judging it.. Fighting it will create more tension, being aware of it and noticing the physical sensation will help release it.
The second step to optimum health is to bring harmony when one or more elements are out of balance. In Ayurveda we talk about the principle: “like increases like and opposite decreases”. In other words, if you have too much of a certain quality, the opposite quality will bring balance. By qualities (or gunas) we mean: warm vs cold, dry/wet, sharp/soft, light/heavy, slow/fast, static/mobile, dense/subtle, etc. Health is a balance between these qualities.
For example, we need the qualities of the water element for softness of the skin, moisture to maintain integrity of the skin and resist infections, but if the skin becomes too oily it becomes undesirable as it looks shiny with large pores and is prone to blackheads and acne We need a balance of these qualities and functions. In that example if we have too much of the quality of the water we need to bring in more dryness (air element).Through diet and lifestyle we are able to bring balance.
In Traditional Chinese Medicine, we also “play” with the five elements ( earth, metal, water, wood and fire) to bring emotional and physical balance. The elements are all connected. They feed and nourish each other: Wood feeds Fire, Fire makes Earth, Earth creates Metal, Metal holds Water, and Water nourishes Wood. The elements also control each other: Wood roots Earth, Earth dams Water, Water extinguishes Fire, Fire melts Metal, and Metal cuts Wood. The system is connected, moving, and constantly in a process of balance. The elements are continually evolving and changing within us, and some elements become stronger and more dominant at different stages in life or due to life events.
By practicing Qigong and using vibrational therapy with the Acutonics tuning forks applied on the body, we are balancing these elements, purging or tonifying certain elements and releasing stagnant Qi (life force energy)
Scientists have determined that there is a tendency in the universe towards harmony. Using the sound vibration of sound healing instruments helps energy circulate freely within the body and restore balance, therefore brings a sense of well-being and enables our self- healing abilities.
Sound is heard not only through our ears but through every cell in our bodies.
Each individual resonates with his or her own vibration. When we play sacred sound healing instruments , their vibrational sound will travel throughout our entire energy field, releasing blockages of energy channels. and bring a harmonious frequency in our cells.
In both Ayurveda and Traditional Chinese Medicine, we recognize the body, mind and soul connection.
Ultimately, our life journey is to realize our true self and the eventual attainment of knowledge of the soul.
